Timetra Networks

As businesses first came to rely on IP for their critical communications, Basil Alwan and Sri Reddy saw the need for a Services Edge Router. This system would be deployed by carriers at their network edge and become the critical piece of infrastructure for next-generation business communications services.

Alcatel astutely saw this need as well and acquired Timetra in 2003 during the depths of the telecom downturn. Basil and Sri still lead the Timetra team, now known as Alcatel-Lucent’s IP Division, which is by far its most successful business driving well over 4 billion Euros in revenue annually.
