Founder Larry Kaplan and his team at Omneon were the first to bring modern storage and computing technology from the world of mainstream IT into the world of professional video. Omneon’s flagship Spectrum product became the industry standard for digital video on-air broadcast. The company weathered two different recessions, became the clear leader in its market, and was ultimately acquired by Harmonic in 2010.
