As VMware’s success brought virtualization to the enterprise, Altor founder Amir Ben-Efraim realized that a new security paradigm would soon be required. Existing approaches were blind to inter-VM traffic in the virtual network, and were unable to keep up with the rapidly proliferating and mobile VM’s of the increasingly dynamic data center. The company was acquired by Juniper in 2010.
